Worship Night + bonfire!

Last night we had about 60 people attend our end of the summer worship and bonfire night. The worship team did an awesome job. It consisted of 7 students from our youth group led by Paul Lindberg, our church worship team leader. We had a great time of worship and a challenge to be a campus missionary this school year. If you weren't at the event, there still will be other opportunities for you to commit to being a campus missionary this year.

We also had an awesome bonfire after! And SMORES! And we had our latest drawing for the big prize for commenting on the blog. The winner was Nathan Tunell (pictured above on the right), who went home with a cool water bottle and a $15 gift card to Subway. Congrats Nathan!

Hope you all had a great night, I know I did!

Grant's last night

Here is Grant at Bigger and Better 2010

Come on out for junior high youth group on Wednesday night. It will be the last night of youth group for Grant Leach. He is heading off to Stevens Point for school next week. So we are going to be saying goodbye.

I know Grant has worked hard over the last few years as a youth leader. He has invested a lot of time and heart into our ministry and the students. If you can make it, come out and say thank you to a guy who has had a huge impact on many of our students and our youth group as a whole.

Hope to see you Wednesday night!

Valleyfair details

On Monday we have our trip to Valleyfair! Many of you have signed up to go, so I thought I would post the details of the trip on the blog.

We will meet and leave from Central Assembly of God Church at 7:00am. The bus will also return to Central Assembly of God Church at approximately 10:00pm. Remember to bring your own money for food and souvenirs. Your $45 paid was for the bus ride and the ticket into Valleyfair. Also, if you plan to go to the water park you will need to bring your swimsuit and towel.

And don't forget this trip is a group trip with all the other youth groups in Superior. So there will be a bus full of kids from all the youth groups, not just Bayside.

It's going to be fun!!!

another epic soccer match

Tonight at senior high youth group we had a great time. First of all the last couple weeks of senior high youth group we have had many more students than in recent weeks. That has been awesome. I think we are gaining some momentum heading into the new school year! Here's what else we did tonight:

-quiz on Tom and Sarah (won by Zakk)
-talk on Fearing God
-carpet ball
-Falyn and Hailey had to wave their hands during the entire game time to exempt themselves from playing the actual game
-Rachel's name was changed to Frances for the night
-we had another epic soccer match

While our soccer match on Wednesday night during junior high was one for the ages, this game tonight was pretty good too. It started off pretty slow, but eventually everyone started to get involved. Jim and Olivia were standout goalies, Matt and Aaron seemed to dominate with tons of goals, but it was Becca Tunell (pictured above with Julianna at the retreat) who scored the game winner on a penalty kick. Nice shot. The final score was 7-6.

It was a fun night and I looked forward to senior high youth group next Sunday night!

Welcome back Ukraine mission team

After a long couple of weeks the Ukraine mission team is back from their trip. We had 3 of our students from Bayside youth group that were a part of the team. Philip McCotter, Luke Tunell, and Falyn McCotter. Make sure you take a moment to welcome them back and to hear some of their amazing stories!

Also, I changed the colors on the blog for this month to the colors of the Ukrainian flag.
