Special Olympics Bowling this weekend

Several of our students will be helping out as volunteers at the Special Olympics Bowling event this weekend!

We even have 2 of our students who will be participating as athletes!

It should be a great event and we want to thank those students who made the commitment to help!

Did you read the story of Noah?

This last week at youth group we studied the story of Noah.  As we have been studying faith in Hebrews 11 we learned about Noah in verse 7:

"By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family.  By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of righteousness that is in keeping with faith."

We encouraged everyone to go back and read the whole story of Noah as found in Genesis chapters 6-9.  So did you get a chance to read it?

Our encouragement and take home from the story of Noah is to let our actions be obedient to God's call on our life and His holy word.

Because our actions define who we are.

So, who are you?

Bayside Bowl IX - Saturday, November 15

In just 26 days we will be having our 9th annual Bayside Bowl.  Saturday, November 15th from 11am-4pm.

It will be lots of fun.  Prizes, food, games, fun and our annual football tournament.  Whether you like football or not - it will be loads of fun!

If you decide to play football - maybe you could win the Bayside Bowl.  All winners have their names written in permanent marker on the coveted Bayside Bowl.  Pictured above are the winners of Bayside Bowl IV - The Nation of Domination.  2010 was their second Bayside Bowl championship.

Who will be the ones to raise the Bayside Bowl this year?

What has God blessed you with? And how are you using that to glorify Him?

These were some of the main questions discussed last night as Amos Tarfa shared with us at our youth group Bible study time.

We hope you enjoyed hearing Amos the last two weeks.  Remember, if you have questions please let me know and we can get them to him.

Also, if you didn't receive a copy of his book and you would like one - just let me know.  We have extra copies.

Talking about creation...

Last night we had a guest speaker for our Bible study - Amos Tarfa.  We continued in our study of faith in Hebrews 11 and Amos focused specifically on verse 3:

"By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible."

There were many great issues that came up.  If you had questions or thoughts - bring them next week as Amos will be back to wrap things up.  A few things you could study if you are interested:

Hebrews 11:3
Genesis 1-2
John 1
Job 38-39

Or look up the law of non-contradiction!

We are looking forward to having Amos share again next week.
Hope to see you there!
