Valley Fair trip

That's right.  We have officially scheduled a youth group trip to Valley Fair this summer!  We will be once again combining with the other local youth groups for a one day trip to Valley Fair on Wednesday, August 22.  The cost is $50 per student and includes a bus trip on a motor coach bus AND your ticket into Valley Fair.  The cost does not include any food.  All students will be required to bring their own food or money for food and extra expenditures.

Also, the coach bus only holds 55 seats, so there are a limited number of spaces available on this trip.  That combined with the fact that we are working with 5 other youth groups means there is even less space.  SO, the only way to guarantee that you go on this trip is by paying the $50 to Pastor Tom as soon as possible.  We (Bayside youth group students) will likely get about 12-18 spots on the trip.  So sign up ASAP.

All students must also have a permission slip on file at Bayside.

If you have questions, contact Pastor Tom.

Hope you can make the trip!

Senior High Youth Group on Sunday, June 24

In spite of the floods that hit our area, we still WILL be having SR HIGH youth group on Sunday night, June 24.  Hopefully this wasn't you, but as you can see our local high school was devastated with water floods surrounding.  No luck for all you SHS students, however, as reports say that the inside of the high school was clean and dry.

Come on out to youth group on Sunday night.  We have several important announcements and some other fun stuff planned.  We will be watching another awesome video - this one about how awesome our God is!  And we will continue with our carpet ball tournament games.

Hope to see you there.  6:30pm-8:00pm.

SR HIGH youth group on Sunday - June 17

We WILL be having youth group Sunday night, June 17.  Enjoy time with your family, make sure to say Happy Father's Day to all the fathers you know, and then join us for youth group from 6:30pm-8:00pm.

Remember our challenge from last week.  We are reading through the book of Romans this summer.  We are just finishing the first week, and our task was to read the first chapter in Romans.  So if you haven't done it yet, do it now!

Hope to see you Sunday night at youth group!

This summer we are going to read Romans

Last night at SR HIGH youth group I made a challenge to our youth group.  If you weren't there it is ok - I am still challenging you.  The message last night was about summer and how we all have many plans but there will still be a lot of free time.  A lot of time to sleep in, watch TV or movies, play video games or just hang out.  So why not spend some more time with God?  I am challenging myself, our youth leaders and all our students in youth group to read through the book of Romans this summer.  I picked Romans because it is not the longest chapter in the Bible (not the shortest either), it is a great book with some very good teaching in it, it is a reasonable length and in the fall we are going to study Romans during youth group.

So, are you up for the challenge?  It really will only take reading a chapter or two each week.  This week the challenge is to read through Romans chapter 1.  The nice thing is all of us can do this, and even if you get busy or go on vacation or get behind at all - it will be fairly easy to catch up!

Here is a potential schedule of readings:
June 11-16 - Romans 1
June 18-23 - Romans 2-3
June 25-30 - Romans 4
July 2-7 - Romans 5
July 9-14 - Romans 6-7
July 16-21 - Romans 8
July 23-28 - Romans 9
July 30-August 4 - Romans 10-11
August 6-11 - Romans 12
August 13-18 - Romans 13-14
August 20-25 - Romans 15
August 27 - September 1 - Romans 16

Who's with me?
