12 in 2012 - 2 down, 10 to go!

That's right. We are 3 months into the year 2012, and I have now accomplished 2 of my 12 goals for the year. Yesterday, at 10:00pm, with 2 hours to spare, on the 90th day of the year - I finished reading through the entire Bible in 90 days! I started with Genesis 1:1 on January 1. And yesterday I read through the final words in the book of Revelation to complete my second task.

If you don't remember, about a month ago I ate a raw egg at SR HIGH youth group to accomplish my first "goal." Of course, that one was one of the more silly ones. But still, a goal the students of our youth group gave me.

I have 10 more to go. Stay tuned as I plan on pulling off number 3 sometime soon!

THE FEUD!

What a fun night we had at THE FEUD! If you came make a comment and let us know what was the best part.

We played Family Feud - CLASS VERSION. The middle schoolers defeated the 10th graders and the 9th graders defeated the upper classmen. In the championship it was the freshman that swept out the middle schoolers for the win!

We also had a really great message about Jesus Christ. While life is filled with choices and answers, sometimes having the right answer is hard to figure out. But Jesus is the right answer! Hopefully seeds were planted in some of your friends lives - or maybe yours!

AND we had a dodge ball tournament! It was a lot of fun. There were several teams in it, and about 3-4 had students from Bayside on them. Make a comment and let everyone know how your team did.

Hope you all had fun. If you missed it, you will not want to miss it next year!

Tomorrow Night - "The FEUD" or is it "The FUED"

Tomorrow night we are having "The FUED." This is an event for all students in middle and high school. We will be having this event on Friday night from 6:00pm until 8:30pm. It will be held at the Northern Lights Elementary School in Superior.

We will be having a game show called "The FEUD." (It will be similar to the game show 'Family Feud,' except instead of families we will be feuding between grades.) AND we will be having our annual Superior area youth dodge ball tournament. (2nd annual) Last year there were 21 dodge ball teams. We are hoping for more this year. And this year there will be a trophy that goes to the winning team to take back to their church until next year!!!!!

So plan on coming out. You will not want to miss it! And just so you know, you don't have to have a team to play dodge ball. We can put you on a team. And if you have a team, you don't have to register before the event. You can just show up and we will register you. So EVERYBODY should come out and join us for a night of fun.

See you tomorrow night!!!!

DODGE BALL

We have another big event coming up. On Friday, March 30 - we will be having "THE FEUD." It will be an awesome night of fun. There will be a dodge ball tournament again this year as well as a game show similar to Family Feud. This event is for all middle and high school students. It will be held at Northern Lights Elementary School from 6:00pm-8:30pm.

This is a great opportunity to invite a friend or someone you know to a youth group event!!!

Make sure you come to youth group this week. We will have invitations for you to give to friends that you would like to have there. You can also get a registration form to fill out for your dodge ball team. Last year we had 4 teams from Bayside. One of them went all the way to the finals, but lost. Let's see if we can get the championship trophy this year! Which by the way, we actually have a trophy to give to the winning team this year. It's sweet!

Plan on being there. It is a week from tomorrow night!

Come to Bayside this Sunday morning

We want to encourage all of you to come to Bayside this Sunday morning to one of our worship services. We meet at 9:00am and 10:30am. I will be preaching on the topic and theme from our retreat last week, "Hide and Seek." I will also be sharing stories from the retreat and talking about how awesome God is and how powerful our retreat was. Our youth worship band will also be leading worship. It's going to be GREAT!

If you went to the retreat, you will not want to miss it because it will be a reminder of what a life-changing weekend it was.

If you missed the retreat, it will be a great chance to see and hear what happened this year on our retreat.

Either way, I know you will be encouraged and motivated. I hope to see you this Sunday morning!

2012 Retreat - "Hide and Seek"

This weekend is our annual retreat. Our prayer is that God will move in a powerful and mighty way and that all students will have open hearts to God's moving.

I'll post pictures and report back to the blog when we get back. And remember there will be no Senior High youth group on Sunday night.

Hoping for an amazing weekend!

T-shirts!

Last night we revealed the new t-shirts for our youth group. Every student who goes to the retreat will get a t-shirt with this design. They are black shirts with gray and white graphics of the design above (no blue at all).

If you are in JR HIGH and you are going to the retreat - come this Wednesday to get your shirt. We plan on having everyone wear your shirt to school on Friday! Then we will all have them on when we go to the retreat on Friday night.

If you are not going to the retreat and you would still like to buy a shirt - the cost is $10.
