Bayside Bowl Results

Last Saturday we held our 8th annual Bayside Bowl.  It was a great success and we want to thank everyone for coming out.  We had over 30 students and adults attend and there was lots to do.  We played dodge ball, floor hockey, tag, video games, soccer and of course our annual football tournament.

There were three teams in the tournament.  The 2-time defending champions, Team Extreme, were back to defend their title.  Well Oiled Machine, a team that years ago had won Bayside Bowl III and IV, was reborn with a new group of players.  And Rising Up was a new team created to challenge these former champions.

In the first round the Well Oiled Machine dominated play - winning both their games and earning a bye into the championship game.  Team Extreme defeated Rising Up in the playoff game to clinch a shot at the title.  In the championship game Team Extreme led the game 16-8 as the time was winding down.  The Well Oiled Machine scored a late touchdown to bring the score to 16-14.  But they failed the 2-point conversion that could have tied the game.  Team Extreme proceeded to run the clock out and scored a touchdown on the final play of the game to win 22-14.  Scott Paulson scored all three touchdowns for Team Extreme and was selected as the Most Valuable Player.

Bayside Bowl is on (as of now)

Even though we had a huge snowstorm on Thursday night and Friday morning (including no school) we still plan on having the Bayside Bowl on Saturday.

The weather reports say the snow is done and the roads should clear up in the next 24 hours.  If something should change we will post it here on the blog and on facebook.

Otherwise - we hope to see you Saturday from 11-4 for Bayside Bowl 8!

Bayside Bowl VIII - This Saturday

All 6th-12th graders are invited to come on out to Bayside this Saturday, February 22 from 11am-4pm.  We will have games, prizes, pizza, lots of fun and our annual football tournament.

Whether you like football or not there will be something fun for you to do.  Come and join us for a great day with our youth group.

The winning team of the football tournament will hoist the Bayside Bowl and have their names written in history.  Will your team have what it takes????

Senior high youth group - TONIGHT!

Come out tonight (Sunday, February 16) for senior high youth group!  Students in 9th-12th grade come on out!

We will have candy, we will have cookies, we will have a quiz, we will have games, and we will continue to study the book of James.

Bayside Bowl VIII - one week away

On Saturday, February 22 we will be hosting our 8th annual Bayside Bowl.  The event goes from 11am until 4pm and will include pizza, prizes, games and so much fun.  It will also include our annual football tournament.

You don't have to play football to have fun - there will be lots of other things to do that day.  And you don't have to be great at football to participate.  Everyone is welcome to join a team.

We have been giving a history of the Bayside Bowl for the last several weeks and for the next week will post some historical information about this great event here on our blog.

Senior High youth group - February 9

Ben says you should come to senior high youth group on Sunday night, February 9.  We will meet from 6:30pm-8:00pm.

Be there for fun.  Be there for cookies.  Be there for a Bible study.  Be there for friends.  Be there for a quiz.

Throwback Thursday - Retreat edition

As many of you have heard and know - our 2014 retreat is coming soon!  In fact the dates changed to April 4-6 and we are now just 57 days away from this great event!

We will have more information at youth group - so come and join us for all the details.

No senior high youth group tonight - February 2

Due to tonight's big football game, we will not be having senior high youth group tonight.  We will meet again for senior high youth group next week, February 9.

Stay home, find a party, eat a lot, cheer a lot, laugh at the commercials - enjoy the game!

My prediction for tonight's game is Denver 37, Seattle 20.  If anyone comments on this post with a prediction that is closer than me I will give you a prize at youth group next week.
