Bayside
Bowl I
was on February 8, 2007. We had 3 teams battling for the new Bayside Bowl
trophy. (The trophy was either a bowl or flower vase that I picked up from
Goodwill for a total of 75 cents! But just imagine what it is worth now!) On
that day the temperature was 13 degrees and there was very little amounts of
snow. In the championship game the Nation of Domination defeated Well Oiled
Machine by a score of 42-37. Well Oiled Machine had taken the lead on a
touchdown and 2 point conversion with about 1 minute to go. However, the Nation
scored on a long touchdown pass to win the game late. Tommy Casper was selected
the Most Valuable Player.
Bayside Bowl II was on February 7, 2008. This year there were 4 teams
participating, there was much more snow, and the temperature was 20 degrees.
Both the defending champions Nation of Domination and Well Oiled Machine were
returning. It was Well Oiled Machine that absolutely dominated the first round
of games, winning all three games by a combined score of 53-0! They met up in
the championship with the Nation of Domination once again. And it was another
classic. The game ended up tied at 28-28. In overtime the Well Oiled Machine
stopped the Nation on the first possession and then scored a touchdown to win 34-28.
Tyler Tollefson was selected the Most Valuable Player.
