Bayside Summer Olympics a Success!

What a great day we had yesterday at the first ever Bayside Summer Olympics!  We had 44 students and 9 adult leaders out for a great day of relay races, team events, individual events and lots of fun!

We will be posting more pictures later and downloading some to facebook as well.  But just wanted to say thank you to everyone who participated in this great event.

Team Djibouti won the overall gold medal with a total of 67 points!  We will post the final results and standings as well as the individual results.  Those will all come with more pictures soon.  Above is a picture of Aaron and Erick competing in the push scooter race.  Lots of fun!

Bayside Summer Olympics

This Sunday marks our first ever Bayside Summer Olympics!  This Sunday, August 26, from 3pm-10pm we will be having team events, individual events, relay events, a bonfire, food, prizes and so much more.

This is for students in 7th-12th grade and we encourage you to bring a friend.  It is going to be a fun time and  what else would you have going on during the last Sunday of the summer?  (Before Labor Day and then school starts up - hate to remind you of that!)

So cap off the summer in a fun way by joining us this Sunday.  There will be plenty of fun and games for all.  The action starts at 3pm!

See you then!

Valley Fair Trip Details

If you are signed up to go on our Valley Fair day trip this Wednesday, August 22 - here are the details you need to know:

The bus will be leaving from Central Assembly of God Church on Hammond Avenue behind the skate park. The bus will leave promptly at 7:00am, so get there before 7am!  The bus will return to Central Assembly at 11pm on Wednesday night.

Also, you need to bring your own money for food, souvenirs and games.  The $50 that you paid covers your bus fare and the ticket into Valley Fair.

If you have any questions, contact Pastor Tom.  Otherwise, see you bright and early Wednesday morning!

SR HIGH youth group on Sunday

Just a reminder that we do have SR HIGH youth group on Sunday night, August 19.  6:30-8:00.

Also, there are still spots available for the Valley Fair trip, so if you are interested in going bring your $50 to sign up.  Sunday night is your last chance to get signed up.

Need new school clothes?

It's that time of year again...BACK TO SCHOOL!!!!

Many of you are probably not ready, but maybe you are starting to look for clothes for this school year.  Make sure you check out the website www.everydayarmoronline.com - it's the design company that is run by our good friend James Alan Hall!  Support his ministry and get really awesomely designed t-shirts for a decent price!

Sign up for Valley Fair trip!

There are a few spots still open for our day trip to Valley Fair on Wednesday, August 22.  The cost is $50 and you must have your money in to guarantee your spot.  Remember we are going on this trip with the other area youth groups.  There are 50 seats on the motor coach bus, and Bayside has 17 reserved for our youth group.  We may add more depending on how many students sign up from other youth groups.  And if we do those extra seats will go on a first come first serve basis to those who pay the $50 first.

So the point is - get signed up today!  Let me know if you want to hand in your money this week.

Summer Olympics - Coming to Bayside youth group!

So are you having fun watching the Olympics this year?  This week has been filled with exciting and glorious Olympic moments in all sorts of sports - but especially in swimming and gymnastics.  The track and field action starts next week and should be a lot of fun.  The Olympics happen only every 4 years, so when they do occur it is a big occasion.

In light of the Olympic theme this summer, Bayside will be hosting it's first EVER Summer Olympics event.  On Sunday, August 26th we will be having a HUGE event for all students in 7th-12th grade.  It will be the BAYSIDE SUMMER OLYMPICS!  Everyone will want to be there.  There will be team events, individual events, prizes, food and so much fun.  The event will happen from 3pm until 10pm.

If you want to know more details you need to come to SR HIGH youth group on Sunday nights leading up to this event.  Remember, we start SR HIGH youth group back up this Sunday, August 5!  Hope to see you there!
