So today begins a 4-day weekend! Just wanted to check and see what you all will be doing. Post a comment and let us know. I'm sure some of you are already gone and out camping or vacationing. But if you are still around let us know what you are up to.
Here are my weekend plans:
-today: hang out with my wife and kids, run as many errands as possible so we can relax on Saturday
-Saturday: relax, prep for my sermon on Sunday, relax, hang out with Garrison and Josiah, relax, and relax
-Sunday: worship at Bayside, preach a sermon, have lunch with family, relax and hang out with my boys
-Monday: grill out
What are you doing on this long weekend?

The last night of AMP
Tonight is the last night of AMP for this school year. This was the first year we had AMP for 5th and 6th graders and it was a great success! AMP will be taking a break until next September, when school starts back up again. However, if you are finishing 6th grade we are inviting you to join us for JR HIGH youth group this summer - beginning next Wednesday, June 1. So this summer we will have 6th-8th grade JR HIGH youth group. And then next fall we will have our transition to new groups.
AMP was led this year by Dave and Amy Lemaster. They did a great job! Thanks guys for leading the group. And thanks to the students who made it such a great group to have!

Jeopardy Winners
For the last three weeks we have been playing Jeopardy during our Digging Deeper class on Sunday mornings. It was quite the competition between three teams. The Princess Warriors, D-Love and the Lovettes and WWCD were the three teams fighting for the chance to be called Jeopardy champions.
After week 1 and Round 1 of Jeopardy the scores were"
D-Love and the Lovettes - 5,000
Princess Warriors - 4,000
WWCD - 3,200
After week 2 and Double Jeopardy the scores were:
D-Love and the Lovettes - 17,200
Princess Warriors - 11,600
WWCD - 9,400
And the final standings after week 3 and Final Jeopardy were:
D-Love and the Lovettes - 10,400
WWCD - 7,600
Princess Warriors - 1,600
Congratulations to D-Love and the Lovettes! Here is a list of the members of their team:
Dani Love
David Broberg
Zach Brookmole
Sophie Dubois
Grant Hanson
Amanda Paulson
Becca Tunell
Hunter Tunell
Megan Tunell
Jessica Xiong
Our Digging Deeper class on Sunday mornings is now over until next fall. Sad Face. We will meet again beginning Sunday, September 11. Hope to see you then! (and certain we will see you before then because youth group on Sunday nights and Wednesday nights will still be going on)

what you missed last night
We had another excellent night at youth group last night. If you weren't there here is what you missed:
-FRENCH BREAD PIZZAS for dinner (yum!)
-a parable lesson on the unforgivable sin
-great small group time
-crazy AMPers
-and an intense matchup of ultimate frisbee led by Dave Lemaster (pictured above)
Don't worry. Dave did not have the chainsaw at youth group. However, he brought that same intensity you see in this picture to our ultimate frisbee game. And his team won!

What you missed on Sunday
The last two Sundays have been a lot of fun. In our weekly digging deeper class on Sunday mornings we are in a 3-week Jeopardy challenge. We have three teams and can add more players to each team as we finish the challenge with Final Jeopardy on Sunday, May 22. That will be the final week of digging deeper class until the fall.
At Senior High Youth Group on Sunday nights we have been having a blast. 2 weeks ago we had a parable lesson from Scott Paulson, lots of candy, great small group times, and a very good game of dodgeball. We played a total of 7 games and it was pretty close between the two teams. The MVP of the night had to be Kaylee Labounty (pictured above - she hates getting her picture taken, so that's what you get when you don't let people take it!). Kaylee made a couple of great saves, amazing catches, and led her team to victory. She also won the impromptu Mother's Day quiz. Great night, Kaylee! Next time let us take your picture! (I actually have 1-2 good pictures of her - but this was more fun)
Last Sunday night we had a dodge ball night with the Christian Missionary Alliance youth group. There were about 30-40 students there in all, and it was a blast! We did have one game of Bayside vs. CMA. But their youth group had several more students as many of you missed out on this fun night. We almost beat them without you! After that we played several variations of dodge ball. It was another great night.
If you have missed it, check it out - Senior High Youth Group on Sunday nights for students in 9th-12th grade. See you this Sunday night!

Sorry it has been so long
Hey everyone, sorry I have not posted on here in over a week! I had a very busy week last week, and then got super sick. For the last 8 days or so I have been battling a pretty bad cold. We have still had a lot of great things going on in youth group. I will post some updates over the next couple days.

National Day of Prayer
Thursday was National Day of Prayer and every year our community celebrates by having a time of prayer at the courthouse in Superior. I have been to it a few times over the years, when I have been in town. But this year we had the idea to bring some students along. So I threw it out there to see if any students were interested. They would be released at 11:45am and we would be bringing them back to school at 1:15pm.
We had 7 students come to this event - all junior highers! Actually all 8th graders! Woot to the class of 2015!!!! Special thanks to the students who came - Philip McCotter, Grant Hanson, Jaycie Paulson, Derek Copperud, Michael Johnson, Julianna Erickson, and Hunter Tunell. It was a fun time and a great way to live out our faith and show the community what we believe in!
I know for a fact that the adults at this event were impacted by the many number of students who showed up. It was a great time of prayer and really cool to be in a setting where we could worship in as public a place as the courthouse! Rock on!

Youth Rally this Wednesday, May 4 - 7th-12th grade
I just wanted to remind everyone that this Wednesday night (May 4) we are having a youth rally at North Bay Church for students in 7th through 12th grade. It will begin at 6:30pm and end around 8:00pm.
This youth rally will include students from all over Superior and many different youth groups. We will have a time of worship, testimonies, and lots of fun. Our focus will be to look back on what God has done through students in our schools this past school year. So come on out for a celebration of God's powerful work in - YOU!
All students in 7th-12th grade are encouraged to attend. If you are in 7th or 8th grade we will not have our normal youth group activities. Rather we want you to go straight to North Bay for the youth rally. If you can't get a ride there, you can come to Bayside and we will make sure that you get to the youth rally. If you have any questions you can contact me as soon as possible.
See you Wednesday night!
