Just wanted to remind everyone that this Wednesday, March 31st, is PARENTS NIGHT at youth group. We are inviting all parents of students in Bayside youth group to come and see what our youth group is all about. There will be opportunities to learn more about our church, ask questions, meet our youth leaders, fellowship with other parents, and compete against your kids! Students you better be ready because the parents have never lost a quiz to the students!
Plan on being there! We will meet from 6:30pm - 7:45pm.

You'll notice on the left side of this website there is a section titled, "Learn More About." Below it is a list of links to websites that I think will be helpful and fun for you to look at. "Sharing Your Faith" is a link to a website called "Freeticket Ambassadors." This website is all about evangelism and outreach. "Growing Deeper" is a link to a website called "Going Deeper International Ministries." This website has lots of information about defending your beliefs, apologetics, evolution, atheism, and more! "Pastor Tom's Family" is a link to a blog that my wife, Sarah, put together. It has pictures, videos, and updates about our family. "Superior Spartan Soccer" is a link to a blog that I write for the high school soccer program. Many of you know that I am also a soccer coach. This last fall I was the head coach of the varsity boys soccer team at Superior High School. And you might be interested to know that three girls from our youth group are currently playing with the varsity girls soccer team. Their first game is next Tuesday and the season goes through the month of May.
So I encourage all of you to check out these websites. Some of them are for fun, and some are areas where you can do research, learn, and use as a resource in your daily walk with God. I hope that you enjoy!

We're back!
Well we are back from the retreat. All I can say is that it was AWESOME and AMAZING! Thanks to everyone who made it so great. I praise God that it went so well. Just so everyone knows, we will be having youth group on Wednesday, March 24 - so I hope we see you there!
I will post some pictures from the retreat later on this week. As well as stories and highlights from the weekend. If you were there, email me what your favorite part of the retreat was.

We WILL have youth group on Wednesday, March 17
I just wanted to let everyone know that we do have youth group this week! Even though some of you have spring break this week, if you are around make sure you still stop by for youth group.

Retreat Countdown: 4 Days!
Only four days left until our annual retreat! It's going to be so awesome. Let me tell you about some of the highlights. First of all, James Alan Hall from Memphis, Tennessee, will be here to lead worship. JAH is a professional worship leader that travels to camps and retreats throughout the year leading worship for students and adults. Our speakers this year are going to be fantastic. We have our very own Grant Leach and Tommy Casper, and Jase Tunell is coming back home from Chicago. AND all the way from the country of Belize - Pastor Mark Somerville will be there!
Did I mention that we are going to Storybook Lodge Christian Camp? It is one of the coolest camps in all of Minnesota. It has some really fun cabins, lots of space outside, and a full court basketball gymnasium.
Let's see, what else? The kitchen staff is ready and planning some great food as always. We have some great games and ice breakers planned for you guys. We have 2 (that's right - 2!) new NIGHT games for you! Not sure if we will be able to sled since it has been so warm, but there is always the gym for basketball, volleyball, dodge ball and more! Oh, and we have a brand new t-shirt designed just for you guys by James Alan, which by the way is free to all who attend the retreat! We have some great prizes and as always - plenty of surprises. This is our biggest event of the year, so we hope you are ready for an amazing three day event!

7 Days until the Retreat - 1 WEEK AWAY!
That's right, one week from today we leave for the retreat! It's not too late to sign up, but you have to do so by this Sunday, March 14th.

10 days until the retreat!
The countdown is at 10! You still have time to sign up for the retreat or get a friend signed up. I will be taking registrations until Sunday, March 14th. So register at youth group on Wednesday or at church on Sunday.

What does it mean to Rise Up?
In just 13 days we will be going on our annual youth retreat to Storybook Lodge. Less than 2 weeks away! This last week I asked a few of our students the question, "What does it mean to rise up?' We recorded their responses and made this video to show at youth group. After watching it, let us know what you think it means to rise up.

Retreat Countdown: 15 Days
Unbelievable! Only two weeks from tomorrow we are heading out for the retreat! Tonight at youth group we made our big announcement. I figured I had to post it on here as well in case some of you were not able to make it to youth group. So...the announcement is that our featured guest speaker will be...
Pastor Mark Somerville from Belize! Some of you know him, some of you might have heard of him. Some of you might be saying where is Belize? Belize is a small country between Mexico and Guatemala in Central America. Last year during spring break 12 of us went on a mission trip to Belize and met Pastor Mark. We stayed at his church and worked with him, his family, and the people of his church. He is an amazing speaker and an awesome man of God. I cannot wait for all of you to meet him. He has a heart and passion for Christ and to see that same heart and passion in students. And he's coming to OUR retreat all the way from BELIZE! That is so cool!
He actually visited Superior once already last May for one weekend. Some of you also might have met him then. Here is a picture from that weekend that we took with some of us that went on the trip. The picture is in front of the Bayside sign in our driveway.
In the picture are Kathy Brookmole, Zach Brookmole, Michelle Tunell, Pastor Mark, Sarah Ann Johnson, Alex Tunell, Tommy Casper, me, Erin Tunell, and Erick Tunell. (Team members that were not able to be in the picture were Luke Tunell, Ryan Paulson, and Shelby Fulkerson.)
So get ready because this is going to be one AMAZING retreat. In Jeremiah 33:3 God says, "Call to me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things." God we call to you for this retreat and can't wait to see the great and mighty things you have in store!
